Mersea Island

now that we have our new car (remind me to post a photo) we can go away on day trips, last weekend we went to Mersea Island which is 10 miles south east of Colchester, which is officially Britain's Oldest City.

Dad kept close tabs on us, we were pretty tired after all that fresh coastal air.


While at Mersea Island mum and dad played bullrush and rounders, this is Zara trying to run the gauntlet playing bullrush

nana makes these wondergul "plunket nighties" for us when we are newborn, I grew out of mine in a couple of months but Zara is still getting a lot of wear out of hers, she is not going to outgrow her nightie, she is going to out wear it

Caiden and baby freya came for dinner on friday night and what better way to finish off dinner than a bath, caiden, zara and I in the bath at our house

but he wouldn't put my pj's on afterwards, so he had to go nudey!!!

* I love how happy it makes you to get in our bed every morning, we can hear you coming up the hallway, the little pitter patter of your feet, and when you get to our room you speed up and start running, then dad pulls back the duvet and you climb in next to him, sometimes you crawl over the top of him and wiggle down between us, and always always always you play with our hair or eyebrows

* I love how you say "thank you mummy for dinner, please may i get down"

* I love how you have started playing imaginery games, wheels on your feet like Hi5 and aeroplanes down the hallway, games with dolly and mini me and your other soft toys, how you sit down and feed baby like a real mummy and how you copy everything I do

* I love that you are sleeping so well at the moment, that you love to go to bed during the day and that if I am not organised enough you get in to bed yourself and drift off to sleep, I love that you sleep with teddy and milly and that you are so happy to have Zara sleeping in the cot next to you

* I love that you and Zara are such good mates, I love the way you get so excited when you hear her wake up and how you run to her room squealing with delight and so happy that she is awake. You like to climb in the cot with her and the two of you giggle and play and usually one of you ends up in tears but your initial reaction is so worth it

* I love that you like to float in the bath and swim like Bianca, and that you think one day mum and dad will watch you swimming and say "go katey"

* I love that you are the best climber in the playground, especially when you are wearing your climbing shoes

* I love that you toilet trained yourself

* I love that you talk to everyone on the phone and say "bye bye love you i'll put you on to mummy"

* I love that you are so cuddly, the greatest joy in my life is when I have my two beautiful girls in my arms

Zara 11 months

* I love that you are possibly the smallest human being in the whole world that walks, that you walk off exploring the world and then turn around to make sure I am watching, then squeal with happiness and come racing back to me with your arms out wide

* I love that you only have one tooth and not much hair and are still so little that they don't make walking shoes small enough for you

* I love that you have the biggest cheesiest gummy smile and that you can make the grumpiest most miserable londoners smile and wave at you, that your whole face squeezes when you smile and that your eyes sparkle like diamonds

* I love that you stroke your hand up and down my arm when I am feeding you

* I love that you are sleeping in your cot until 5:30 in the morning and then you just lie awake next to me in mum and dad's bed,snuggling in very contently for atleast an hour, that you get upset when dad gets up to have a shower, and that you get so excited when katey comes in to join us

* I love that you love and idolise Katey so much, that Katey was your first word apart from mum mum mum and dad dad dad, and that whatever she does you want to do

* I love that you play with the shape sorter and try to put the blocks in the right holes

* I love that you get upset when i say no, especially because i know that it means you understand me

* I love that you are such a cuddly baby, the best part of my day is when I get to cuddle you and katey, I think i must be the luckiest mum in the world xxx

a day at battersea park zoo

we had an awesome morning at battersea park, we saw monkeys, giant snails, donkeys, chickens, tractors and a playground, daisy and i did lots of climbing and zara loved the little slide, then we had lunch before catching the bus home, a very successful outing and hopefully mum will take us on more outings before the end of summer.

we have been so spoilt, aunty amy and uncle alex sent zara and i a parcel, to say congratulations to me for being dry and congratulations to zara for walking, i got big girl knickers and zara got shoes..... well what else could they send

water play

we have been lucky enough to have nice weather for the last couple of weeks, which means zara and i have had a couple of oppurtunities to hang out in water..... at home we empty our toy baskets and have one each




we have also made a couple of trips to bishops park which has a really cool paddling pool for littlies like us, one day we went with caiden and daisy and there was no time for mucking around with swimmers, it was a la natural for us :-)

as you can see zara is now walking everywhere and even worse she likes pushing my pram, i will have to have words to mum about purchasing another pram, zara has this nack of always wanting what i have, as you can see below mum and dad had to buy another chair because we were fighting all the time when there was only one chair, i think this might be quite a costly exercise for ma and pa, word of advise for other folk out there thinking about having number two, wait until number one is older and sick of their toys because you can't pass down what is still being used



ps do you like our new pyjama's???? we are both pretty proud of our new pj's and think we look pretty good in them.

birthday presents

nana and grandad sent a birthday parcel to zara and I, 2 1/2 years for me and 1 year for zara, we both got very pretty summer dresses, you can see zara's one below, and I got a "rainjacket" i have been looking for a rain jacket for weeks because I kept getting wet and finally I have one, it is perfect. Since I got my new rainjacket the sun has been shining and shining and shining, in fact yesterday was the hottest day of the year, dad is sure its because I have a new rainjacket.

a trip to peterborough

mum, zara and I packed our bags and headed out of london for few days to stay with lisa, emily, cameron and archie, we had a fabulous couple of days, swimming in the pool, walking through the woods, riding on little trains, eating icecreams and meatballs, and hanging out with the andersons, here are some snapshots of our holiday
