hanging at home

with the countdown on to dad starting work - 2 more sleeps, we are enjoying chilling at home and playing with dad, he is really good at building towers and zara and i take great delight in knocking them down. nana has gone away to cornwall with uncle sean so there are no snaps of her today but she'll be back in the weekend. here are a couple of hanging out at home snaps, and one getting ready to go out snap

singing in the rain

we are being treated to weather that london is infamous for, it means a few mornings stuck in doors, but we are still managing to get out and about. thank goodness bridget gave me an umbrella as a leaving present, it has come in very handy, and i am an expert and using it now. check out me and dad getting off the train at putney, prepared for the walk home.

tate modern

along with what felt like every other londoner left in london on the long weekend, we set out on a cold and wet london day to visit the tate modern, an excursion well worth while and one we will definately take again. i had to wander through the galleries and find items of interest like monet's water lillies and picasso's candle/bottle, and we queued for 25 minutes to see two very large parrots and a crackly tv on channel 7.... the best part was having nana with us, it is very cool to have her in london.

there was plenty of time for just hanging so zara and i made the most of playing amongst the art with nana.

zara at the park

zara is loving our park as much as me now and even has her own favourite toys to play on, she especially likes playing under the slide, i think its because it is just the right size for her to stand up under there without banging her head, every now and then she lets me under there to play with her.

hanging out at home

mum dad zara and i are making the most of our last week at home together, thats right next week dad has to go to work so these happy times carefree days with two parents at home are about to come to an end. we are all in for a hell of a shock but seriously this happy family thing has gone too far, i mean look at the photo's we are always smiling and having fun, someones got to get out there and earn us some pounds, thanks dad your a sport, we'll miss you though.

a fluffy free friday

we had a great day today but oh my goodness today was the first day this week that i didn't have a fluffy.... mum wishes you could hear me say fluffy, i don't just say it i do it, i hold my hands up to my face and with a big smile i shake my hands and whole body with excitement and sing "fluffy"

anyway no fluffy today but we did have a great day... mum is shaking her head at one of the memories of the day, we were heading out to dinner at wagamama's and on the we went in to marks and spencers on putney high street to get a jar of food for zara, mum asked one of the staff members where the baby food was and she said

"no baby food here, just cat and dog food" .... whats with that!!!! although personally i am sure zara would love a can of jellimeat for dinner. in the end she ended up eating half of mums dinner anyway including shitake mushrooms and courgette's, much to dads disgust especially as he calls them shit take mushrooms. Good one dad.

So a great day finished off by a bowl of delicious vanilla icecream promised to me for sleeping in my bed the whole night, yep the new me, sleeping through the night and eating LOTS OF ICE CREAM :-)

thanks pilot pete

our landlords boyfriend is a pilot for british airways and he bought me this awesome plane. i took it everywhere with me today and everytime i saw a plane in the sky (every 4 minutes) i said "is that pete?" i was also curious as to whether or not the planes in the sky had a button on top like mine does to make the take off noise. thanks pete, we both love it, and the landing mat..... uncle alex eat your heart out!!!

its all about me... zara daisy

zara is the most awesome little sister anyone could ask for, she idiolises me and laughs at all my jokes, and i mean ALL my jokes even the ones that aren't funny. when i walk in to the room her whole body shakes with excitement and her arms and legs thrash about wildly. her smile brightens up the whole room and she watches EVERYTHING i do. tonight in the bath she copied everything i did, splashing, standing up sitting down, talking, squealing, laughing, she nearly drowned herself in excitement. we have the best time together and i don't know where i would be without her.

when daisy came to visit

zara and i had our friend daisy come to visit, mum got out the old faithful popcorn and we had a popcorn picnic in the reception room (lounge). the highlight of daisy's day was definately the wiggles, although she was introduced to a lot of new things that we kiwi's see alot of
1. popcorn
2. wiggles
3. 2 minute noodles
4. vegemite
5. speights (joking)

we think daisy would be a great kiwi kid......

she also introduced a few things to me like
1. postman pat
2. wind the bobbin up
3. fimbles
4. paddington bear

i guess its lucky we are so universal

dad's party dinner

on dad's birthday i had a special party dinner, and i got to choose what i wanted to have so i had popcorn, hot chips, cold chips and chicken nuggets with sauce, and a strawberry milk to wash it all down. i love birthdays, shame that uncle kev and dad shared their birthdays as i only got one birthday party dinner instead of two

dad's birthday fluffy

yesterday was dad's birthday so we definately had to go out for our obligatory fluffy.... we decided to try something a wee bit different, and we ended up at costa's on putney high street. mum and dad had mocha's and a caramel slice each and i got my fluffy, as well a blueberry muffin. the muffin was delicious and I ate all of it and the fluffy was pretty good too, along with the 3 marshmallows they served with it. Mum and dad LOVED the caramel slice and i think they were probably tempted to get more for the trip home. Fortunately they resisted the temptation but i bet we'll be back there before too long.

even zara loves fluffies now and she gets the froth from my cup

skyping

there are two things that we do on our computer, the first in blogging which you obviously get to see, the second is skyping.... we skype nana and granddad, and amy and alex (aka the punks) amongst others. yesterday i got hold of mums camera and took these photo's, skyping is such a great way for us to stay in touch and it means we actually get to see each other as well

the punks posing for the pic

granddad smiling for the camera

phone photo's

we don't always have the camera to capture some of those 'london' moments, but we always have the phone... here are a couple of pics taken out and about in london, starting from the day granddad left, it was a pretty sombre tube ride out to heathrow but a journey we had to take.

then this is a photo of me and zara at one of our favourite fluffy haunts, neuhaus, its essentially a chocolate shop and Neuhaus was the creator of "praline".... in 1957 Jean Neuhaus opened a candy store at the prestigious "Galerie de la Reine" in Brussels. In 1912 his grandson created the first chilled chocolates which he named "Pralines".

and a couple of snaps of mum, zara and i at the park

A couple of snaps of me in my NZ dress that Amy Rose sent for my birthday. It was such a lovely spring day, which most of April was. April was the hottest April on record, and the record has been going for 350 years.

and finally this is me and my new friend Daisy..... we both love riding in the car, and we hang out together at playgroup on Mondays and Fridays. Sometimes if I'm lucky we go to the park together too. Its so good to have met a new friend here in London.
