Lunchtime
What to do in your PJ's
Every night when we put our PJ's on we jump up on to the chair in the window to see if we can see dad walking down the hill, it has become a nightly ritual. It is getting a bit harder though because it is starting to get darker in the evenings, and we haven't even had daylight saving end yet!
Zara and I are both really enjoying our books at the moment, we both sit on mum's lap and she reads to us. It helps fill in time before dad comes home and it keeps us occupied. This is me waiting for mum to put the camera down and read to me. I have everything ready.
And when we are done with the books there is always our prams we can play with, we had a bit of a collision after this photo was taken, it gets very messy when we get our wheels hooked up, as any mother going for a walk with another mother on a skinny pavement will know.

Hand Foot and Mouth Disease
Coinciding with another outbreak of foot and mouth disease here in the UK Zara Daisy has also had another outbreak. Just think if we had culled her as originally suggested by uncle kevin the first time around this wouldn't be happening.
Apparently there are more than one strain of the coxsackie virus and true to form Zara has caught it. There are a lot more blisters this time, on her hands as well, and her mouth is full of ulcers, but she is doing OK, its just like a very bad cold really.

First day at school
on monday morning i had my first day at school, i go to little fingers nursery which is only a 5 minute walk away, and so far it is going really wel. i have had a few emotional moments when i think about mummy, but generally i have been ok. mum was a little sad leaving me there on the first morning but she didn't tell me that until later (just as well)
i go three mornings a week, and when i get a bit older i will be able to stay there for a couple of afternoons as well, its a bit like kindergarden in NZ

Crossing the Solent
it was a bit wobbly wandering around the boat so zara and i had to sit down to find our sea legs
zara found them pretty quickly and although she already had a shiner from one massive ferry fall there was no stopping her
i preferred to take it easy on the top deck and enjoy the views of the english channel and the south coast!
Isle of Wight - our holiday at the beach
mum and zara contemplating how big the world is
finally somewhere for us to eat, no one would serve meals before 6:30pm so we were starting to think we were going to have to starve on the island
the old thatch village in shanklin pulled through for us and we had a lovely dinner of fish and chips
we visited "the needles which are on the south west point of the island, to get down to the beach you have to take the chair lift, its a bit hairy and they didn't want to let Zara go down, you have to be able to walk to use the chairlift and i think they thought mum and dad were lying when they said she could walk
i certainly made sure we got our moneys worth in the geriatric hotel we stayed in, the carpet may have left something to be desired, and the matre de in the restuarant had a lot to answer for but the swimming pool was a hit, i spent nearly 4 hours in total in the swimming pool, now i just have to talk ma and pa into building a swimming pool at home!

Zara's 1st Birthday
We can't believe it, one year already since Zara was born. We started the day with pressies in bed, then tea and toast at her new table and chairs. Then we had a party for Zara at the park, lots of people came, and she got lots of lovely pressies.
Thanks to everyone for all the gifts, cards, emails, phone calls, messages, Zara had a fantastic day, a birthday she will never forget.
